Our training team at Ken Cook Co. is composed of talented individuals looking to make an impact in the world of product safety. One of those team members is Liz Czerwinski! Liz has been with the Ken Cook Co. team for a year and has been an outstanding addition to our team.
Liz started as a full-time Proofreader & Editor and then moved into her current position as an Instructional Designer. We knew Liz’s background in education would be a valuable asset for our training team, and she has proved that to be true! You might be wondering what an Instructional Designer does, so let's dive a little deeper into Instructional Design.
To begin, we want to address that instructional design can include a variety of roles and responsibilities across different companies, but this is how we approach it at Ken Cook Co. At KCC, our ID is someone who designs, develops, evaluates, and manages instructional processes to ensure effective, efficient, and engaging learning! Liz’s day-to-day agenda changes frequently. However, she often works with our partners and SMEs (Subject Matter Experts) to identify learning objectives and targets, write content targeted to those objectives, create media to assist in a more in-depth learning experience, and develop assessments to track learner progress.
There are many ways to manage projects in this field, and Liz often uses a blend of popular methodologies, such as ADDIE and AGILE. The best structure we have found is to utilize an iterative model of working so we constantly leave room for improvement and opportunities to communicate with our clients each step of the way. This approach helps our training team create concise, engaging content for targeted audiences.
